Prime power:

lt is available for an unlimited number of annual hours in variable load application. The permissible average power output during at 24 hours period shall not exceed 80% of the prime power.10% overload capability is available for a period of 1 hour within a 12-hour period of operation.

 

Standby power: 

lt is defined as the maximum power applicable for supplying emergency power for the duration of a utility power interruption. It is capableof delivering for up to 500hours of operation per year. No overload capability is available at this rating.
